Sun and Abbey House

Sun and Abbey House is the second new home Lynch Brother Homes has built in Kennington, a few minutes from Wayside House. The brief here was different: a brand-new house with the character of an established village home, one you would struggle to pick out as new at all.

That meant building in traditional materials from the start: coursed natural stone elevations with brick dressings and chimneys, an oak-framed porch, painted timber casement windows and cottage proportions throughout. The construction gallery below shows the house taking shape — the same fabric-first approach we bring to every new build home in Oxfordshire.

Inside, the finish is modern where it matters: oak floors, fitted alcove joinery and light, generous rooms. Outside, with roses already climbing the stonework, the house reads as if it has always been part of the street.
