Working Foreman Jobs in Oxford

A good foreman can hold a site together. But even the best foreman in the industry cannot deliver consistently when the operation behind them is falling apart. At Lynch Brother Homes, we have built a business that gives our site leaders what most construction companies in Oxford do not — proper backing, proper planning and a team that works as one from office to site.

We are looking for an experienced working site foreman to lead on residential projects across Oxford and Oxfordshire. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be managing trades, maintaining standards and keeping builds on programme — but you will be doing it within a structure that has been designed to help you succeed, not leave you to firefight on your own.

Pay: £40,000–£50,000 per year Job Type: Full-time, permanent Location: Oxford and Oxfordshire — in person

What You Will Be Leading

Our projects are high-end residential — bespoke new builds, extensions, conversions and refurbishments for clients who expect quality and professionalism throughout. As working foreman, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing and coordinating tradespeople and subcontractors on site day to day
  • Maintaining quality standards across every stage of the build, from groundworks through to handover
  • Keeping projects running to programme and flagging issues before they become problems
  • Working hands-on alongside your team — this is a working foreman role, not a clipboard job
  • Communicating with project managers, the office team and clients to keep everyone aligned
  • Ensuring all work complies with building regulations and meets the standard Lynch Brother Homes is known for
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organised site at all times

Every project you lead will have been planned, resourced and coordinated by our off-site team before you start on site. Programmes are realistic. Materials are ordered. Trades are scheduled. You will walk onto a site that is ready for you to lead — not one that needs rescuing.

What We Expect

We have earned our reputation across Oxfordshire by holding ourselves to a high standard, and we need a foreman who shares that commitment. The right candidate will bring:

  • A minimum of eight years’ experience in domestic residential construction
  • Proven ability to manage site teams, coordinate trades and deliver projects to programme
  • Strong hands-on skills — you lead from the front, not from behind a desk
  • The ability to read and work from construction drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication — with your team, with the office and with clients
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • A genuine commitment to quality, safety and doing things properly

We are looking for someone who has been let down by the way other companies operate and knows they are capable of delivering more when given the right platform. If you have spent years compensating for poor planning, under-resourced sites and broken communication, you already know what you are looking for. We have built it.

What You Get in Return

Most foremen in construction have experienced the same pattern — handed a site with an unrealistic programme, insufficient resources and told to make it work. When things go wrong, the blame rolls downhill. At Lynch Brother Homes, we have built a different model entirely.

An operation that has your back. Our project managers, administrators and directors drive the planning and coordination behind every build. By the time you are on site, the groundwork has been done. You can focus on leading the build because the systems behind you are already working.

A team that feels like family. This is not a company where the foreman is isolated between site and office. You are part of one team — regular check-ins, team lunches, open communication and a culture where problems get solved together. We value our foremen as leaders, and we treat them accordingly.

Training and development. We invest in every member of our team, foremen included. Whether that is leadership development, technical training or exposure to new areas of the business — we actively support your growth. Several of our most senior people started in hands-on site roles and progressed because we created the conditions for it.

Real career progression. A foreman role at Lynch Brother Homes is not the end of the road. We promote from within and we develop strong leaders. If you have ambitions beyond the role you start in, we want to hear about them — and we will back you in getting there.

Local projects, always. Every build is in and around Oxford. No travelling the country, no weeks away from home. You can lead projects you are proud of without your personal life paying the price.

Stability and a strong pipeline. This is a permanent, full-time position with a company that has consistent work across Oxfordshire. We are not hiring to plug a gap — we are building a leadership team for the long term.

This Role Is Right for You If

  • You are an experienced foreman who knows what good looks like but has rarely been given the backing to deliver it
  • You are tired of being set up to fail on under-resourced, poorly planned projects
  • You want to lead sites that are properly coordinated, with a team behind you that does its job
  • You take pride in quality, hold yourself to a high standard and expect the same from those around you
  • You want to be part of a company that values leadership and invests in the people who provide it
